Results of “Polar Invest Express 2015” Program were summed up at the Invest session
One of the priorities of the Corporation of the Murmansk Territory Development is searching of new growth points: initiatives, ideas and formed projects of small and medium business enterprises on the Murmansk Territory. For this purpose, the Corporation and the Ministry of Industry and Enterprise Development began realization of new “Polar Invest Express” Program in 2015. This program is focused on searching and support of such initiatives. In particular, support opportunities of small business enterprises in major municipalities of the Murmansk Territory were represented.
Investment ideas and projects of active small and medium business enterprises of the region were in the focus of the Program. Collecting ideas of such companies was performed since April till September. As the result, 31 applications from small and medium businesses’ representatives on the Murmansk Territory were chosen for participation in the Program. Projects of businessmen of Kandalaksha, Kola, Lovozero, Kovdor districts, Apatity, Kirovsk, Monchegorsk towns and Murmansk city, were represented. Branch directions of these projects are tourism, hospitality industry, agricultural production, aquaculture, food goods production, production of engineering nets for industrial purposes, public catering and sphere of public services, woodworking industry and computer services.
Expert group has conducted extensive analysis of the applications within the second stage and during the preferential voting 10 projects-finalists were chosen.
At the Invest session that took place on November 18th within the Murmansk International Business Week, the special section was devoted to the projects of “Polar Invest Express” finalists. The most courageous and prepared finalists of the Program presented their projects for crush test completion - thorough assessment by the specialists in the sphere of marketing, finances, management, by staff of organizations of regional infrastructure of small and medium business support. During the crush tests, six projects of the Program participants passed the test for perceptiveness, solvency, and economic feasibility. The experts gave their advice and proposals on the projects improvement and their additional “package”. Projects of three participants have drawn potential investors and partners’ attention already in the course of the Invest session.
Upon the section completion, the companies which became finalists of “Polar Invest Express” Program, have got diplomas. A grateful letter was granted to Kandalaksha District Administration, which specialists contributed active participation in the Program of companies of small and medium business: a half of the finalists represented Kandalaksha District.
According to the results of “Polar Invest Express”, the finalists of the Program conclude the Agreements with the Corporation of the Murmansk Territory Development within which the Corporation will provide services on improvement and support of the projects to the year 2016 without charge.
Nowadays, the organizers have already begun planning the program for the next year.

Murmansk Region confirms the status of the region with favorable conditions for business development
Today, the Governor Marina Kovtun held a meeting of the Council on improving the investment climate in the Murmansk Region. The Head of the region recalled that in the National Investment Climate Rating for the constituent entities of the Russian Federation in 2016, the Murmansk Region rose by 20 points, improving its position to the 32nd place. For the third consecutive year, the region is included in the third group of regions, confirming the status of the region with favorable conditions for business development.

On June 23, 2017, in the Kolenergo Central electrical networks (2A Festivalnaya Street, the town of Apatity, the Murmansk Region), the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of the Murmansk Region (Regional Association of Employers) will meet with representatives of the business community of the municipal entities of the town of Apatity and the town of Kirovsk.
