On November 11, 2016 the Deputy Governor of the Murmansk region Gregory Stratiy held a regular meeting of the Project Office (organizational headquarters). The meeting was aimed at monitoring the results of the implementation of standards for the activities of executive authorities of federal entitites in the Russian Federation, which should ensure a favorable investment climate in the Murmansk region. The introduction of a national rating of the investment climate development in the Murmansk region was also one of the key issues on the discussed agenda.
During the meeting the participants discussed issues connected with training and retraining in specializations corresponding to the investment strategy of the region and the needs of investors. The economic development of the region, the implementation of large-scale Arctic projects require advanced development of staff training and the formation of applied qualifications. A Center for Arctic competencies was launched, comprising 3 multi-functional centers for applied qualifications. They are created on the basis of regional professional educational institutions. A forecast of the recruitment needs of the economy and society of the Murmansk region for the period 2016 - 2025.
The second issue on the agenda of the meeting of the Project Office was the work done to reach higher performance in the National rating.
The representatives of the infrastructure supporting small and medium businesses in the Murmansk region spoke about projects, forms and types of support for business entities in the Murmansk region, the activities carried out to improve the position of Murmansk in the national rankings.
The chairman of the Project Office noted the need for an active interaction between the executive authorities of the Murmansk region and the organizations of business support infrastructure, public organizations and enterprises to improve the level of performance.
Gregory Stratiy also invited all the participants in the Project Office meeting to use widely the platforms of the upcoming 5th Murmansk International Business Week, which will take place from 14 to 18 November 2016 to discuss and develop solutions to current issues.
