Federal Agency for subsoil use announces open auction for using subsoil plots of Africanda deposit of the Murmansk region
In Murmansk region preparation is underway to implement project on creating mining processing plant on production of titanium dioxide, rare and rare-earth metals at the Africanda deposit of perovskite titanium magnetite ores.
On August 04, 2015 the Federal Agency for Subsoil Use announced an open license auction for subsoil reaches of Africanda deposit of perovskite titanium magnetite ores located in the south part of the Kola Peninsula, at 1,5 km distance from the Africanda railway station, on the south bank of the Imandra lake.
The total area of the land plot is 1,6 square km, prospective resources of the subsoil plot having been tested and having received positive expert evaluation, are the following:
а) by Р1category: multimetal ore – 626196 thous. tons, titanium dioxide (TiO2) – 52179 thous.tons;
б) by Р2 category: rare-earth metals (by TR2O3) – 863 thous. tons, sum of oxides of tantalum and niobium (Ta2O5+Nb2O5) – 303 thous. tons.
Initial payment – RUR 263 mln.
