December 11, 2014 the Vice-Governor of the Murmansk region Mr. Stratiy G.I took part in the ceremony of opening the plant of non-explosive components of emulsion explosives CJSC “Orica CIS” in the territory of the ore mine “Vostochniy” JSC “Apatit”. Out of the number of this type productions present in the territory of the Murmansk region, it is a modern and unique plan in its scale and technology equipment. Over 30 new jobs were created at the plant. For information: “Orica” Company - is an Australian Public Company. By its financials the company enters the TOP 50 largest companies of Australia. It’s a world leader in production of explosives and initiating systems for mining and construction industries. In Russia the Company “Orica” is presented by the following legal entities: 1) CJSC “Orica CIS”;2) LLC “Orica St. Petersburg”;3) LLC “Orica – UMMC” (joint venture with LLC “UMMC – Holding”).CJSC “Orica CIS” is the parent enterprise of the Group in Russia with its principal business office located in Moscow, and branches:- branch in inhabited locality Zapolyarny (Murmansk region) – beginning from 2000 have been supplying emulsion explosives for the needs of OJSC “Kolskaya GMK(MMC)” (OJSC MMC “Norilsk Nickel” );- branch in the town of Olenegorsk (Murmansk region) – beginning from 2005 have been supplying emulsion explosives for OJSL “Olkon” (CJSC “Severstal Resources”) – beginning from 2009 have been operating the plant of non-explosive components of emulsion explosives;- branch in the town of Kostomuksha (Karelia) – beginning from 2008 have been assembling of non-electric initiation systems EXEL for mining enterprises of Russia (among the productions consumers are such enterprises as OJSC “Kovdorsky GOK”, OJSC “Olkon”, OJSC “Karelsky Okatysh”, Transpolar branch OJSC “MMC “Norilsk Nickel” and others).
The governor of the Murmansk region
Today, the Governor Marina Kovtun held a meeting of the Council on improving the investment climate in the Murmansk Region. The Head of the region recalled that in the National Investment Climate Rating for the constituent entities of the Russian Federation in 2016, the Murmansk Region rose by 20 points, improving its position to the 32nd place. For the third consecutive year, the region is included in the third group of regions, confirming the status of the region with favorable conditions for business development.
On June 23, 2017, in the Kolenergo Central electrical networks (2A Festivalnaya Street, the town of Apatity, the Murmansk Region), the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of the Murmansk Region (Regional Association of Employers) will meet with representatives of the business community of the municipal entities of the town of Apatity and the town of Kirovsk.
